Jane Hoerner's Obituary
Jane Lockwood Warder Hoerner, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Haven, MI on June 19, 2011. She was born in New York City on August 16, 1921 to the late Julian T. and Emily Lockwood Warder. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY. Jane attended Wood Secretarial School and worked for Travelers Insurance before raising her family.
Jane was the beloved wife of Richard Charles Hoerner for 69 years. She was the devoted and loving mother of Susan (Stephen) Struck of Grand Haven, Michigan, Karen (James) Neel of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, Elizabeth (Rex) Roe of Southlake, Texas, Guri Ostlyngen (Peter Tonn) of Sandvika, Norway and Agatha (Demetrios) Athanassiou of Athens, Greece; the adoring and loving grandmother of Emily Struck, Andrew Struck, Kristin Neel, Kathryn Neel, Sarah Roe and Julian Roe; and great-grandmother to Sophie Struck, Carson Struck, and Xavier Charland. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. Her sister, Ann Warder, preceded her in death.
Jane and Richard raised their family in Long Island, New York, Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Plymouth, Michigan. They retired to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and most recently Grand Haven, Michigan, where Richard still resides. Jane cherished her time with family and friends most of all. She will be remembered for her open heart and gracious spirit.
Her life will be celebrated at a joyful gathering at the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven, Michigan, on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Tom Cook presiding.
