Jane Spoelman's Obituary
Jane Spoelman went home in Victory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 6, 2020. Jane was born in the Netherlands on December 7th, 1933 to Adrian (John) and Dora Van Eyck who preceded her in death. As a girl she enjoyed ice skating on Holland's waterways. Surviving the Nazi occupation during WWII, the family legally immigrated to the United States in 1947, proudly becoming American citizens. She married James H. Spoelman in 1955. He preceded her in death in 2011. The family enjoyed many camping trips, farm and family life. They had three children: Richard (Regina), Michael (Holly), and Jayne Lynn (Randy Wolffis). Jane had two sisters: Nell (Donald) Vandykeof Holland, MI, who preceded her in death in 2020 and Henrietta (Robert) Doctor of Muskegon. She also had eleven grandchildren: Becky, Ryan, Allison, Joey, Kelsey, Jesse, Nick, Brooke, Andrew, Derek. A grandchild Richie preceded her in death. She also had three great-grandchildren: Zoey, Avery and Lillian and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens (2188 Remembrance Drive, Muskegon) with Pastor David Celeskey of Unity Reformed Church, of which Jane was a member, as the officiant. Persons testing positive or who have been exposed to COVID-19 are invited to view the ceremony via the “Sytsema FH” YouTube Channel which will be available after the service.
