Jane M. Sikkenga's Obituary
Mrs. Jane M. Sikkenga, age 91, went to be with her Lord Monday morning, November 8, 2004. She was born March 22, 1913 in Grand Haven, MI to Arthur and Elizabeth (Ruiter) VandenBosch and has lived in the Muskegon area since 1936. Jane had been employed at Hackley Hospital as a Registered Nurse from 1936 until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church; it’s Ladies Fellowship and was active visiting members of the church and the Calling Program. On April 3, 1936 she married Percy Sikkenga and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Arthur; 1 grandson, Peter and by 1 great-grandson, David John Hain. SURVIVORS include 4 sons, Harrison (Charlynne) Sikkenga of Norton Shores, Arthur (Alice) Sikkenga of Whitehall, Peter (Dianne) Sikkenga of Fremont and Stanley (Judy) Sikkenga of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, whom she loved and enjoyed very much and by 1 brother, Otto (Dorothy) VandenBosch of Sparta. SERVICES will be 1PM Wednesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 49442 (231-726-5210) with the Rev. David Sieplinga officiating. Burial will be in Lake Forest Cemetery, Grand Haven. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8PM Tuesday. MEMORIAL GIFTS to Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan Christian High School will be appreciated.
