Janet Marlene Blanshine's Obituary
Janet M. Blanshine, 81, of Norton Shores, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020. She was born January 12, 1939 to Hiram and Gladys (Brady) Rebedew in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. Janet was a graduate of Muskegon High School, and during that time, worked at SherMac’s (Cherokee) Restaurant. She then worked at Norge Corp. in the mailroom and later in life at the USPS as a postal clerk before her retirement. Janet enjoyed staying active and enjoyed daily bike rides and working out at the gym with her sister three times a week. She enjoyed working in her yard, flower and vegetable gardens, and took pride in keeping a clean home. She was an avid University of Michigan fan. The love of her life was her three sons, Rollin Blanshine Jr. of Florida, Brian Blanshine of Oregon, and Craig Blanshine of Muskegon. Her blue eyes would sparkle whenever her sons or grandchildren came over to visit. It was always family first with Janet. A great joy in her life was her six grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryan, Brian, Bianca, Gordon, and Garrett. Survivors include her sons and grandchildren; sister and best friend, Sharon Rebedew of Norton Shores and brother, Richard (Pat) Rebedew of Muskegon. She had several nieces and nephews and many longtime friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Hiram Rebedew Jr., James Rebedew, and Ernest Rebedew, all of Muskegon. Due to current restrictions, SERVICES for Janet will be PRIVATE. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
