Janet Millicent Briegel's Obituary
Janet Millicent Briegel, age 93, passed away peacefully at the Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake, Monday, February 20, 2012. She was born in Spring Lake on July 25, 1918 the youngest of nine children to Claus and Jeannie (Workman) Vink and was a graduate of Grand Haven H.S. She married Carl G. Briegel in Spring Lake on October 23, 1940. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1985. Mrs. Briegel was a former member of Christ Community Church and was a former member of the Sarah Circle, sang in the choir, was past president of the Ladies Aide and volunteered at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Janet enjoyed traveling, swimming, walking and spending time with friends. Her greatest joys came from her family, caring for and sitting with her grandchildren. She is survived by: five loving children, Karen (Keith) Brower of Grand Rapids, Richard (Pat) Briegel of Spring Lake, Ronald (Peggy) Briegel of Grand Haven, Randall (Dawn) Briegel of Spring Lake and Ryan (Dee) Briegel of Whitehall; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Kieft and Joan (Ed) Ebel both of Grand Haven; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; six sisters; a granddaughter, Julie Vickers; and a son-in-law, Gordon Kamstra. The funeral service will be held at:
