Mrs. Janet D. "Jan" Martin's Obituary
Mrs. Janet D. “Jan” Martin, 48, passed away Thursday evening, July 17, 2014. Born July 23, 1965 to Paul L. and Carol (Siscoe) Hoos, she was a life resident of Muskegon. Jan worked as the Deli Manager at the Norton Shores Meijer store in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she married Andrew S. “Andy” Martin on May 7, 1988. SURVIVORS include her husband, Andy; her son, Drew Martin; parents, Paul L. and Carol Hoos; brothers Scott Hoos and Tim Bean; father- and mother-in-law, Dave and Darlene Martin; brother-in-law, David (Kari) Martin; sister-in-law, Ann (Cameron) Main; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul T. Hoos in 1976. Janet dealt with especially kidney issues nearly all her life, and went through organ transplants and the birth of her “miracle baby” with grace and determination. The family would appreciate MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS be given in her memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or Gift of Life. VISITATION will be Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444; phone 231-798-1100. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) with Rev. Fr. Bart Okagbue as Celebrant. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
