Janet Ruth DeWitt's Obituary
Mrs. Janet Ruth DeWitt, age 77, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on May 14, 1943 to Clyde and Doris (Arendsen) Cook. Janet was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church where she was active with Bible Study. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed quilting and gardening. Janet played the piano and spent many years teaching piano lessons. Most importantly, Janet cherished her family and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. On August 23, 1964, Janet married David C. DeWitt and he preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her two children, Jeff DeWitt and Diana (David) Lamphere; four grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph DeWitt and Tessa and Emma Lamphere; brother, Marshall (Sally) Cook; sister, Judy (Ron) Bytwerk; brother-in-law, Richard DeWitt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Due to COVID-19 and concerns with social distancing, services for Janet will be PRIVATE. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
