Janet L. "Jan" Glick's Obituary
Janet L. “Jan” Glick, age 85, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. She was born August 2, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to Albert R. and Ethel F. (Heiden) Stueber and considered Muskegon her home. Jan married Lewis H. Glick on August 26, 1956 and they were blessed with 60 years of marriage and ministry before he passed away on September 23, 2016. She embraced her role as the pastor’s wife and together, Pastor Lew and Jan ministered to the congregations of Faith Lutheran Church, Metamora, OH, Grace Lutheran Church, Luckey, OH, American Lutheran Church, Mt. Clemens, MI and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Muskegon, MI. Jan was also a former member of Samuel Lutheran Church and currently made First Lutheran Church of Muskegon her spiritual home. She was very active in all of the churches they were assigned, but most recently, she attended the Grief Support Group at First Lutheran Church. She had also volunteered for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. Jan enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and playing golf. But her time spent being together as family was always her priority. Survivors include 4 children, Cheryl (Harvey) Hertz, David (Karen) Glick, Gary (Michelle) Glick and Amy (John) Smith; Grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Hertz, Jeremy (April) Hertz, Bethany Hertz, Benjamin & Aubrey Glick, Cassandra (Robert) Ray, Adriane Glick, Heather and Nicole Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Timothy, Madelyn & Lewis Hertz, Corbin & Evelyn Ray; 1 brother, Robert (Lois) Stueber; and several cousins. A Memorial Service will be held privately for family. Public Visitation will be held 3-7 PM Thursday, August 13, 2020 limited to 10 people at a time indoors at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
