Janet L. Lewis' Obituary
Muskegon resident Janet Lyn Lewis died unexpectedly on March 2nd, 2026, in Muskegon, MI. She was born on November 11th, 1951, in Muskegon, MI, to Willard & Virginia (Wimmer/Price) Hill.
Janet attended Mona Shores High School and graduated from Muskegon Community College. She raised her family in the White Cloud area and retired from Muskegon County in 2009 after a long career as an LPN Charge Nurse at the Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. Janet returned to the Muskegon area and married Marvin Lewis in 1999, where she happily lived out the rest of her days reading, playing cards, going to bingo, and spending time with family.
Janet is survived by her husband, Marvin Lewis; children, Yvonne (James) Caughey and Eric (Holly) McDaniel; stepsons, Christopher (Aubry) Lewis and Marvin (Jennifer) Lewis II; siblings: Debra (Doyle) Smith, Linda (Donald) Stafford, and Willard (Sandy) Hill Jr; siblings in-law: Tom Lewis, John Lewis, Jeff (Jodi) Lewis, James Jesson, Ron (Donna) McDaniel, Lorrie Hazekamp, and John (Mary) McDaniel; nine grandchildren: Paige (Erik), Hayley (Ian), Hayden, Gracie (Reid), Leah, Dakota, Aundrea (Jordan), Kaylyn (Larry), and Kielee; and six great grandchildren: Myla, Millie, Jaxxon, Aria, Linkin, and Kohen. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Willard & Virginia Hill; sisters, Sherry Hill and Carol Jesson (Hill); and former spouse, Thomas McDaniel.
A Memorial Service will be held for Janet on March 20th, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Family Bible Church, 1256 W. Broadway, Muskegon MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
