Janet G. Lorenz's Obituary
Janet G. Lorenz, age 74, passed away at home on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born on February 5, 1949, to James and Modena (Robison) Shanklin Sr. in Obion, TN. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School class of 1967. Janet made home in various places before making her way back to Muskegon in 2000. She dedicated numerous years working as an assistant manager at Firestone before retiring in 2008. Janet had a joy for animals, especially her dog, Winnie Pooh who held a special place in her heart as well as all her grand fur babies. She had an unconditional love for her family and supported them in any way she could. Janet will be missed dearly by so many. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lorraine Frost; adored grandson, Daniel (Brittany Winningham) Frost; three great-grandchildren, Laura Frost, Sadie Frost and Robert Frost; fiancé, Barry DeJonge; his daughter, Erica Ruel; her children, Hayden, Delaney and Reilyn; longtime companion and best friend, John Lorenz; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Modena Shanklin Sr.; sister, Deborah Middlecamp; and brother, James “Bubba” Shanklin Jr. In accordance with Janet’s wishes, no service will be held.
