Janet Lee Parker's Obituary
Mrs. Janet Lee Parker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8th, 2024 at Trinity Health Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in Nunica, MI, on February 26th, 1937, to Russell and Elizabeth (Hellman) Davison. Janet graduated from Nunica High School in 1955. On October 24, 1975, she married John “Jack” Parker in a private family ceremony at their Norton Shores home. Janet worked over 20 years as a highly accomplished and recognized Avon District Manager where she earned many awards and recognition to include winning trips to Italy, Hong Kong, Spain, Paris, and Hawaii where beautiful memories were made. Janet was a very positive person and had a special talent for motivating her sales team to achieve their personal best. Janet’s optimistic view extended to her greatest love, her family. She loved being a wife, mom and grandmother, and was everyone’s greatest cheerleader. In the words of one of her granddaughters, “she had an infectious laugh and a spunky personality”. She had incredible intuition and was always there to lend an ear and offer just the right advice. She helped find the positive in every situation and always cheered you up. She had a great love of animals and a deep appreciation for nature, spending many hours enjoying the woods behind her home. Janet loved plants, flowers, traveling, jewelry, music, dancing, playing the piano, the beach and any item that said “mom” on it. Janet is survived by her loving husband, John “Jack” Parker; children: Amy (Mike) Milliron, Michael (Rhonda) Neher; step-children: Tracy (Leonard) Lamb and Gregory Parker; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Janet is preceded in death by her parents: Russell and Elizabeth Davison; brother: Jerry Davison; sister: Emmalou Davison; and son: David Neher. Janet will be greatly missed by her entire family, as well as the many friends she met at MediLodge Nursing Home in her final years. The family cannot properly express their deep appreciation for her very special friend and caregiver, Hailey. A graveside service will take place May 18, 2024 at 2:00pm at Laketon Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial contribution to Dementia Society of America. Arrangements by the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
