Janet E. Salisz's Obituary
Janet E. Salisz, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 23, 1935 to George and Marie (Kemperman) Volek in Muskegon. Jan graduated from Baker College and went on to work as an administrative assistant at St. Lazare Retreat House for 13 years. She was a faithful member at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Jan was a gifted musician and singer; and would play organ for mass. She loved baking, reading and traveling with her family. On April 3, 1961 she married Henry J. Salisz, he survives her along with her children, Paul (Mary) Salisz, Joseph (Sheila) Salisz, Francis (Paula) Salisz, Patricia (Mark) Vanderwest; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and sister, Georgia Lee Hebert. She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Paul Borgeson. VISITATION with Jan’s family will take place on Friday, May 24, 2019 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd (231) 759-8565 from 5:00 – 7:30 PM, with a scripture service to be prayed at 6:30 PM. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church’s Marian Chapel (2929 McCracken St.) at 11:00 AM with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service at church. ENTOMBMENT will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at 1:30 PM. For a more lasting memory, donations in Janet’s name can be made to either the Parkinsons Foundation, Harbor Hospice Foundation or Muskegon Catholic Central Education Fund.
