Janet Grace Niemi's Obituary
Mrs. Janet Grace Niemi, age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006. She was born February 16, 1920 in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, Canada to Stephen and Sarah (Porter) Dean and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church where she was active in the women's fellowship. On May 5, 1945, she married Arvi E. Niemi in Muskegon and he survives her along with 1 daughter, Janice M. Liverance of Washington, DC; 1 brother, George (June) Dean of North Muskegon; 1 sister, Blanche Hoffman of North Muskegon; 1 brother-in-law, Glen Bailey of Lowell, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 7 sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Central United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dean Bailey and Randall Hansen officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
