Mrs. Janice Ann Erickson's Obituary
Janice Ann Erickson, age 70, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her home with family present. Jan was born November 28, 1948 to William and Ann (Vrablic) Miesch in Muskegon. In 1988 she married Albert Erickson.
Jan liked to travel, especially to the mountains of Tennessee and Pigeon Forge where she married Al. She enjoyed cooking especially when she was feeding the entire family—her baked beans and cakes were legendary. She was an excellent seamstress and avid crafter. Jan was an enthusiastic spectator at her kids and grandkids sporting events. Her love for her family and friends was deep and unconditional, but the true love of her life was her devil-dog, Punkie.
She will be greatly missed by husband Al; her children, Kimberly (Kevin Cavanaugh) Benedict, Michael (Jamie) Benedict Jr., and stepchildren Candice (Brian) Pariseau, and Vicki (Michael) Prelich. Jan was a devoted grandma to her grandchildren: Kyle Short, Adam Vandenbosch, Alyssa Benedict, Mikey Benedict, Nicole Vandenbosch, Kirsten Bryan and Ryan Pariseau and her great grandsons Kason Vandenbosch and Kolby. She leaves behind her beloved brothers, William (Linda) Miesch, Robert (Shelly) Miesch, Chuck (Kathy) Miesch, and baby brother Mike (Roberta King) Miesch; as well as Aunt Marg La Morte; Larry Vandenbosch and many nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her nephews, Bobby Miesch and Noah Miesch; and her close friend Sue Beck.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100) with Rev Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
