Janice H. Kirschner's Obituary
Janice Hazel Kirschner, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Muskegon, MI. Janice was born in Muskegon on January 24, 1943, to her parents Arnold and Violet (Glacz) Ulmer. She graduated from Muskegon High School and worked for many years as a switchboard operator for Comerica Bank. On November 24, 1962, she married David Kirschner, and they spent 50 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death in 2013. One of Janice’s favorite pastimes was going to local car shows and yard sales. She enjoyed sewing, especially blankets and doll clothes. She was a very thoughtful person; she would sew bibs for everyone that she knew was expecting a baby. She would find old dolls at yard sales, restore them, sew clothes for them, and give them away as gifts. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Jeffrey (Barb) Kirschner and Jill (Tim) Borgman Stott; four grandchildren: Michael (Brooke) Kirschner, Kyle (Jessica Ely) Borgman, Samantha (Dylan Hamp) Kirschner, and Hanna Kirschner; two great-grandchildren: Steven and Melissa Kirschner; three siblings: Karen Walton, Terri (Charles Miller) Thomas, and Scott (Kristine Bennett) Ulmer; close friends, Judy and Roberta; and her two dogs: Sadie and Stella. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David Kirschner. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Pound Buddies.
