Janice M. Ryder's Obituary
Jan M. Ryder, age 69, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born on January 12, 1948 to Henry and Thelma (Slay) Rutledge in Sheffield, AL. Jan enjoyed listening to the Gaithers Christian music, watching Alabama football, crocheting and taking care of her favorite dogs, Alli and Saban. Jan also enjoyed driving truck cross country with her husband Bill until 2002 when she developed congestive heart failure. SURVIVORS include her husband, Bill Ryder and her 3 children, Jana (Danny) Watson, Byron (Marcy) Darby and Kevin (Kristina) Darby; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 2 step-children, John (Holly) Ryder and Amy (Rodger) Roach; sister, Connie (Mike) Vaughn; sisters and brothers in-law, Vonnie Ryder, Dennis (Mary Jane) Ryder, Lynn Eary, Teresa (Jim) Lykins, Michele Ryder, Julie (Roy) Huggins, Lori Ryder and Anne Ryder. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jan will take place on Friday Dec. 1, 2017 at 11:00am at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Scott Church officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to Helen DeVos Children Hospital Foundation.
