Janice L. Stratton's Obituary
Janice L. Stratton, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 in Muskegon. She was born on July 27, 1936 in Muskegon to Raymond and Helen (Harris) Frizzell, and resided in the area all of her life. Janice was a cook for Head Start for 26 years, before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church where she was involved with the church Bible Study, the Mission Guild and taught Sunday School. Janice was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader and part of the Band Parents of Fruitport School. She volunteered for Hackley Hospital and the Muskegon County Sheriff Department patrolling handicap parking, and owned her own catering business. On March 6, 1954, she married Ronald Stratton and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2017. SURVIVORS include four children Ronda (Richard) Kotecki, Cheryl (Randy) Bell, Chris (Martha) Stratton, and Kimberly (Dave Morgan) Stratton; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Ivana) Bell, Nathan Bell, Joel (Stephanie) Bell, Rebecka (Tom) Hoyt, Rochelle (Pat) Buzzard, Rachel (Jim) Henderson, and Jennifer Kreigh; and 14 great grandchildren. Janice was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Renee Kotecki; and three sisters, Juanita Okerlund, Joyce Dailey and Julia Carr. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Fellowship Reformed Church with Pastor Mike VanKampen officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM at church. Memorial Contributions in Janice’s name may be made to Fellowship Reformed Church Youth Group Fund.
