Janice R. Cuddohy's Obituary
Mrs. Janice R. Cuddohy, age 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her home. She was born in Muskegon on January 20, 1941 to Royal and Honore (Houle) Smith and had lived in the area most of her life. Jan was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mercy College of Detroit with a Bachelor of Arts in English and spent many years teaching at Mona Shores Public Schools and Baker College. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jan married Patrick Cuddohy in Muskegon on July 20, 1963 and he survives her along with two daughters, Lynn (Christopher) Toth of Grand Haven and Beth (David) Strong of Palo Alto, CA; five grandchildren, Natalie, Rachel and Elise Toth and Michael and Abby Strong; one sister, Lorraine Cranmer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Jeane Tokarz, Eileen Senecal, Margaret Gauthier, Sally Bartz and Barbara Budde. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Louis Anderson presiding. VISITATION will be from 5 – 8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. INTERMENT will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Jan’s name may be made to Our Lady of Grace.
