Mrs. Janise May Kies' Obituary
Mrs. Janise May Kies, age 81, passed away Saturday morning, April 9, 2016, surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Janise was born May 31, 1934, in Muskegon to Chalmers and Trena (Solmon) Thompson. She was a Muskegon High School graduate and went on to work with Continental Motors and then CWC Castings as a Secretary, retiring in 1986. On February 4, 1956, Janise married Lyle Charles Kies at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He preceded Janise in death on January 2, 1996. They had enjoyed traveling, crafting, and card playing. Janise was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she helped with the luncheons and the Church newspaper. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and reading to them. Janise will be greatly missed by her daughters, Pamela Kies-Lowe of Battle Creek, Debbie (Tom) Fuller of Whitehall, and Annette (Ronald) Clements of Montague; 7 grandchildren, Kyle Lowe, Erin Lowe, Lindsey Fuller, Nicholas Fuller, Derek (Tara Brecht) Clements, Kevin (Krystal) Clements, and Heather Clements; 2 brothers, Jack (Cheryl) Thompson, and Richard Thompson, all of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Lyle, Janise was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, James and Norman Thompson; and 2 sisters, Kathleen and Charlene Thompson. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1100 Dykstra Rd., with Rev Fr. Peter Vu as Celebrant. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM. Interment in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Life Circles PACE Program or the American Cancer Society/ White Lake Relay for Life.
