Jantje "Jennie" Timmerman's Obituary
Mrs. Jennie (Hoving) Timmerman, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2020. She died peacefully at her home at Grand Pines Assisted Living in Grand Haven.
Jennie was born November 29, 1926, in Assen, Netherlands. She married Cornelis “Casey” Timmerman on June 15, 1951. Together with their oldest daughter, immigrated in May of 1953 to Weesies Brothers Farms in Montague, MI where they raised their five children.
Jennie was an active member of New Era Christian Reformed Church and a dedicated volunteer at New Era Christian School. Fifteen years ago, she and her husband moved to Grand Haven and became members of Second Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven.
Survivors include her children: Dena Alexander of Norton Shores, Jane (David) Dornbos of Grand Haven, Wilma (Ken) Doctor of Fruitport, Linda (Jeff) Jeltema of Grand Rapids, and John (Jodi) Timmerman of Norton Shores; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Casey on September 18, 2010, her son-in-law, Dr. Arden Alexander in 2019, four sisters and two brothers.
A private family funeral service will take place at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Jennie may be given to New Era Christian School.
