Jason Paul Bertoia's Obituary
Jason joined his dad Bill in heaven on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was born July 15, 1979 in Muskegon to William P. and Kathryn M. (Weiss) Bertoia and was a lifelong resident of the area. Jason graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Muskegon Community College. Jason has a long connection to the Muskegon area in theater and the performing arts community. He had been the Managing Director of the Muskegon Civic Theatre for 6 years. He also worked as a counselor for Camp Pendalouan, the Webster House/Every Woman’s Place and the Muskegon Community Health Project. Jason acted and directed at Muskegon Catholic Central High School, Muskegon Civic Theatre, and the White Lake Playhouse. He also directed 15 productions for Western Michigan Christian High School. He was a member of the Muskegon Rotary Club for many years. Survivors include his partner, Nathan Johnson; his mother, Kathryn M. Bertoia; his brothers, Dennis (Sarah) Bertoia, Ryan (Melissa) Bertoia; 3 nieces, Gabby Bertoia, Olivia Bertoia, Josie Bertoia; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Bertoia. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Rev. Dr. Jared C.
