Jason Eric Kettel's Obituary
Mr. Jason Eric “Jay” Kettel, age 41, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his home in Fruitport, Michigan. He was born in Midland, Michigan on June 13, 1977. Jay graduated from Gladwin High School, class of 1995, and from Nashville Automotive Diesel College with an Associate of Diesel Mechanics. He was currently employed by Haworth as an Information Technologist. Jay enjoyed playing ice hockey, (thinking about) restoring automobiles and Harley Davidson’s, and hosting pool parties and cook-outs at his home. He took great pride in his children and enjoyed coaching and supporting them in their many activities. Most importantly, Jay loved his family and cherished time he spent with them. On August 31, 2007, Jay married the former April Ann Stokely in Spring Lake and she survives him along with their children, Riley and Mason; his mother, Linda (Richard) McMann; father, Michael (Carol) Kettel; parents-in-law, Barbara (Lawrence) Lyewski and Donald Stokely; step-siblings, Amy (Ronald) Leggitt, Julie Teceno, James (Michelle Przygocki) Studniarz, Wade (Jeanie Faustin) Studniarz; siblings-in-law, Stacy (David) Marcellus, Brian (Jenny) Stokely, Amber (Dennis) Plamondon, Marc Lyewski; nieces and nephews, Cody, Adrianna, Jackson, Wesley, Cooper, Nicholas, Megan, Brooke, Kasey, Rachel, Lacey, Karlee, Justin, Mathew, Andrew; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Jay was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffrey Kettel and Jed Studniarz. SERVICES will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Monday, June 10, 2019 at The Lee Chapel. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, 805 Ridge Rd, Bay City, MI 48708. You are welcome to greet his family at the cemetery from 12-1 PM. MEMORIALS in Jay’s memory may be directed to his children C/O Lake Michigan Credit Union or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
