Jasper J. "Jay" Angeleri's Obituary
Mr. Jasper J. “Jay” Angeleri, age 78, passed away Friday afternoon, October 8, 2004 at a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1926 in Beloit, WI to Charles and and Rosa (LaRosa) Angeleri and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. Jay was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. He retired from SPX Corp. (Sealed Power Hi-Lift Division) after working over 35 years as a machinist. He also owned and operated Angeleri’s Food Mart. He was a member of the Michigan Blueberry Association, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11, and the Sons of Italy. Jay was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Lorraine Angeleri and his parents, Charles and Rosa Angeleri. SURVIVORS include his sons, Dennis Angeleri and Mike Angeleri; daughters, Rose (Jim) Perri and Debbie (Rob) Doremire; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Isabelle Forrest of WI, Doris Madru of AR, and Jennie Fredrickson of WI. Jay was a very thoughtful man that loved his family. He was a hard working man that enjoyed farming and gardening. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. INTERMENT will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION with Jay’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM this evening at the funeral home.
