Jayne Marie Ruiz's Obituary
Jayne Marie Ruiz, age 56, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born January 16, 1965 in Muskegon to Felipe and Janice (Werner) Rodriguez Ruiz and lived most of her life in Raleigh, NC, but always considered Muskegon her home. Jayne worked as a legal sectary for Duke University and later as a project manager for Quintile. She most recently worked 15 years as a senior project manager for Icon Clinical Research and retired in April of 2021. Jayne attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in her childhood. She was very generous and giving of her time and energy. Jayne loved to travel and especially share her travel experiences with others – many times taking them back to places she had already traveled so they could experience it. She took people on countless vacations over the years because she loved to go places and do things with people. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. Survivors include her fiancé, Scott A. VanRaalte; her mother, Janice Ruiz; her sister, Karyn (Darnell) Brown and their children, Connor, Collin, Carlee; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special close friends, Erika VanYorx and Shannon Larson. She was preceded in death by her father, Felipe Rodriguez Ruiz and her brother, Michael Ruiz. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 9, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
