Jayne A. TerHaar-Norton's Obituary
Mrs. Jayne A. TerHaar-Norton, age 88, passed away on September 19, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1929 to Thomas and Anna (Witt) Walhout in Muskegon. She belonged to Calvary Bible Church and volunteered with the Muskegon Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army. Jayne had retired many years ago from DeBoer Nursing Home as a receptionist. She enjoyed reading, crafts and two-tracking with Grady. On April 8, 1949, she married Laverne E. TerHaar and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2002. On November 7, 2009, she married Graydon Norton and he survives her along with 3 children, Nancy Rottier of Fremont, Tom (Sharon) TerHaar and Jim (Ann) TerHaar of Muskegon; step-children, William (Ruth) Norton, Robert Norton, Luanne (Jim) Memmott, Nancy (Joseph) Bolterstein, James (Candie) Norton, Jerry (Laura) Norton and Ken (Karen) Norton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob Rottier; brother, John Walhout; sister, Dorothy Boonstra and step-daughter, Patsy Ethridge. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Calvary Bible Church (4617 Grand Haven Rd.) with Pastor Ed Arndt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8PM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 and one hour prior to the service at church. MEMORIALS can be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
