Jean E. Boeve's Obituary
Jean E. Boeve, age 91, met her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1931 to Louis and Ella (Start) Crenno in Muskegon, MI. On October 21, 1950, she married the love of her life, Elmer Boeve. Together they cherished 67 years full of love and laughter. Elmer preceded her in death on July 30, 2018. Jean dedicated many years working alongside Elmer at Capt. Hook’s-Wharf Seafood Market & Restaurant, before retiring in 1998. She was a longtime member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, where she played the role of a sidekick during Youth Group and the head cook in the kitchen. Jean was blessed with a green thumb and in her earlier years loved tending to her flower garden. She was both a talented chef and baker always providing a delicious treat to her friends and family. Her famous banana bread, peanut clusters and apple pie will truly be missed. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a vibrant part of her community, a devoted and loving Christian wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean’s generous and tender-loving spirit will genuinely be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Dennis) Williams, Rick (Karen Fye) Boeve, Jill (Brian) Wiggins, and Todd (Dora) Boeve; son-in-law, Russ Richards; 9 grandchildren, Kelly (Bobby) Watkins, Lori (Paul) Pagano, Andrew (Sharon) Williams, Angela (Spencer) McIlroy, Kendra Richards, Joe (Amanda) Richards, Olivia Richards, and Ethan and Arista Boeve; 12 great-grandchildren, Justin Watkins, Lorin Watkins, Xavier and Kalia Pagano, Kiley Williams, Carter McIlroy, Logan and Mya Richards, Brendan, Palmer and Cooper Richards; and Kaidyn Klosowski; 2 brothers, Gerald (Betty) Crenno and Carl (Linda) Crenno; 3 sisters, Barbara Crenno, Avis Spira and Rennell Cashbaugh; brother-in-law, Norman (Nell) Boeve; sister-in-law, Lillian Neal; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Jackie, Cheryl and Lavonne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ella Crenno; in-laws, Henry (Henrietta) Boeve; sister-in-law, Dorothy VanKekerix; 3 brothers-in-law, Bill Spira, Justin Boeve and Jim Neal; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Boeve. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445 with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s honor can be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
