Jean S. Cunningham's Obituary
Jean Slacer Cunningham, age 94, passed away July 25, 2021 in Norton Shores, Michigan.
Jean was born in Buffalo, New York on May 6, 1927. She was an active member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church and served in the Stephens Ministries. Jean was also one of the early members of the Singing Sisters of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church which has performed at charitable events throughout Michigan. Her adventures were not limited to her service in the church. In fact, one of her fondest memories which she reveled in retelling was having been bitten on the nose by an overly affectionate Koala Bear when living in Australia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas P. Cunningham, Sr. in 2012, daughter Judy Cunningham in 2020 as well as her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Jean is survived by her 3 children: Thomas P. (Elizabeth) Cunningham Jr., Wendy Shaw, and Lynn Miller; 5 grandchildren: Holly (Derek) McTavish, Caitlin (Sam) Bradley, Jeffrey (Hannah) Miller, Robert Miller, and Sarah Miller; 11 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Eleanor Miller; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces, and nephews.
