Jean Elizabeth Dusnik's Obituary
Jean Elizabeth Dusnik, age 99, formerly of Grand Haven, Michigan peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Florida. Jean was born on November 22, 1924, in Spring Lake to John and Christine (Prelesnik) VanHall. She graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1943 and worked in the office at Story & Clark Piano Factory after graduation. She married Jack Anthony Dusnik on March 9, 1946, in Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1985.
Jean was a very strong-willed woman and extremely independent. She enjoyed boating, snow skiing, traveling, reading, shopping, and watching baseball (especially the Tigers and the Rays). One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She was a member of the Methodist Church of the Dunes. Jean was a longtime resident of Grand Haven and in her later years, she moved to Brandon, Florida to be closer to her family.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan (David) LaGosh; her son, John (Debra) Dusnik; 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Christine) Dusnik, Jason (Corinne) LaGosh, Ashley (Sean) Dusnik/McGarvey, Jennifer (Nick) Majkowski, Brianne (Kyle) Worden; 8 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Walter VanHall; and her sister, Evelyn Sutliff.
The family is being served by The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with burial at Lake Forest Cemetery. A private family service will be held.
