Jean Griswold-Gabris' Obituary
Jean Griswold-Gabris, age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on November 3, 1933 to Harry and Lucille (Hilliard) Thue in Muskegon. She lived most of her adult life on Muskegon Lake in the former commercial fishing village called Port Sherman. In this unique area, she supported the family’s commercial fishing business in her early years and raised her four kids. Later, Jean then spent 21 years working for S.D. Warren until her retirement in March of 1994. On February 4, 1994 she married Joseph Gabris and they spent 23 devoted years together until his passing in January of 2018. She is survived by her children, Leone (Mark Kinziger) Daly; Bill (Karen) Griswold, Ken (Kelly) Griswold, Ray (Kimberly Angles) Griswold, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Gabris, twin brother, Eugene and brother, Marvin. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jean will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery.
