Jean W. Johnson's Obituary
Jean W. Johnson, age 84, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Hackley Hospital. She was born August 5, 1930 in Traverse City, Michigan. She moved to Muskegon when she was a young girl. Jean married James W. Johnson August 28, 1948. She worked at the Spaghetti House, Italian Villa, Doo Drop Inn and Almond Enterprises. Jean enjoyed evenings watching West Michigan’s beautiful sunsets. She enjoyed spending time with her family; her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were very dear to her. Survivors include six loving daughters, Janie (Rob) Polick of Grand Rapids, MI, Judy (Ross) Soltess of Richland, MI, Joyce (David) Strach of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Joanne (Steven, Sr.) Brooks of Norton Shores, June Scouten (Gary) of Muskegon and Jackie Johnson of Muskegon. Jean also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Nora Lannin (Howard); husband, James W. Johnson; sisters, Janet Riffle and Betty LaBello and brother, Eddie Lannin. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jean will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100). VISITATION will be held an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
