Jean Marie Kling's Obituary
Mrs. Jean Marie Kling, age 83, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 in Grand Haven. She was born March 25, 1930 in Muskegon to George and Irene (Babbit) Medendorp, and resided in the area all of her life. Jean worked at Landman, Latiman, Clink, and Robb Law Firm until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. Jean loved dancing, and danced 78 years in jazz, tap, and clogging. On August 30, 1952, she married Henry Kling, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2011. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Henry (Helen) Kling of Laurel, MD, Linda Kling-Treder of Fruitport, Gary (Brenda) Kling of Fruitport, Nancy (Greg) Pressler of Muskegon, and Brenda (Steve) Kella of Fruitport. She was “Nana” to her 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Richard (Grace) Medendorp of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Ed (Joan) Kling; sisters-in-law, Wanda (Harry) Ryznar, Julia Christian, Bernice Kling; and best friend, Betty LeBlanc. Jean was also preceded in death by her brother, George Medendorp. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Saturday May 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge St.) with Rev. Fr. Daniel R. DePew presiding. VISITATION with Jean’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with the Rosary prayed at 6PM.
