Jean E. Senecal's Obituary
Jean Eleanor Senecal passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at home in the loving care of her family Harbor Hospice. She was born November 10, 1925 to Frank and Laura Crete in Saint Clair Shores, MI. She moved to Muskegon in middle school and graduated from Muskegon High School. Jean started her career as a Secretary and worked her way up in the Mortgage Banking industry, eventually serving as the first female Branch Manager for Graham Mortgage and later the first female Vice President for Waterfield Mortgage until her retirement in 1990. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Leo Senecal; one brother, Russell Crete; and three sisters, Verna Dawson, Dorothy Grinwis and Lois Kops. She is survived by her son, Marc (Beth Wescott) Senecal and daughter, Julie Senecal, both of Muskegon. She had two granddaughters, Aimee (Brandon) Lyons and Renee (Ryan) Sensenbrenner. Six great-grandchildren include Matthew, Brianna and William Sensenbrenner and Ryan, Taylor and Jack Makowicki and special adopted family, Dr. Eddie and Lisa Makowicki. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church Marion Chapel, 2929 McCracken, Norton Shores, MI 49441 on Tuesday, August 9 at 11:00AM with Fr. Charles Hall presiding. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Harbor Hospice Foundation or Catholic Charites food or baby pantry.
