Jean Suits' Obituary
Jean Suits, age 78, of Spring Lake and formerly of Grand Haven passed away Monday, February 2, 2009, at Holland Hospital. She was born July 20, 1930, in Grand Rapids to William Frank and Lavina M. (Buys) Mastenbrook.
A graduate of Grand Haven High School, Jean lived all of her life in the Tri-Cities area and was formerly employed by Steketee’s and the Grand Haven Credit Bureau. She enjoyed knitting, playing the piano, shopping, and spending time with her friends and neighbors and her “grand-beagles.”
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nicole (Jim) Klempel of Grand Haven; two sisters, Dorthy Ankelen and Betty Roossien, both of Grand Haven; a brother, William Frank (Elizabeth) Mastenbrook of Spring Lake; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Vicki and Gina, two brothers-in-law, and a niece.
The service for Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake with Pastor David Horne officiating. Friends may meet the family 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 6, at the funeral home in Spring Lake. Memorial contributions in Jean’s name may be given to the Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan.
