Mrs. Jean V. Zufelt's Obituary
Mrs. Jean V. Zufelt, known as Grandma Jean to many, was called home to her Lord and Savior Friday morning, November 29, 2013 at the age of 86. Jean was born January 9, 1927 to Fawn and Hulda (Misner) Parsons in Muskegon and lived in the area her entire life. On October 17, 1953 she married the love of her life Dale W. Zufelt and together they raised two children and two grandchildren. Mr. Zufelt preceded her in death on March 10, 2012. Over the years Jean has enjoyed square dancing, bowling, crafts, working in her yard, and collecting angels. Jean also had a special love for dogs, especially Jake-dog, and she was very proud of her dog figurine collection. During Jean’s life she worked at a variety of jobs extending from upholstering to hosting at Denny’s Restaurant. But what you would find Jean enjoying the most was being with her husband and family and caring for others. She was an angel to anyone who needed one. Together, Dale and Jean built a life and a love many only dream of and they shared that love with those around them. The best parents, grandparents ever, their presence will be greatly missed. Jean is survived by 2 children, Gerry Block and Frank Beebe; special grandchildren, Glenn (Lynda) Jackomino, Tina Swanstrom, Audrey (Bob) Partak and Mark Young; a special caregiver Lynette Maycroft; 7 additional grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, William Parsons. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Zufelt will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 7, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, 49444, (231) 798-1100.
