Jean A. Blasky's Obituary
Jean A. Blasky, age 99, of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at a local care facility. She was born March 11, 1912, in Roblin Manitoba, Canada, to Karol and Ludwika (Stankiewicz) Janeczko, and she married Sylvester Blasky on June 18, 1932, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1997.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Michigan and Florida, a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and former member of the Altar Society. Jean was a homemaker and loved being with her family.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Gertrude “Trudy” Sobol of Merritt Island, FL and Loretta Wheeler of Wyoming, MI; sons, Gerald (Joan) Blasky of Grand Haven and Michael (Anita) Blasky of Grand Haven and Merritt Island, FL; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Zigmund. She was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, John Sobol and David Wheeler, and great-grandson Francis Riley.
The Memorial Mass for Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Fr. William Langlois officiating.
