Jeanette M. Peltier's Obituary
Mrs. Jeanette M. Peltier, age 96, passed away February 11, 2005. She was born March 12, 1908 in Alden, Michigan to Eli and Mary Louise (Dorman) Best and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. After graduation from Alden High School in 1925, she came to Muskegon and attended the Howell Business College. In 1930, she was married to Douglas Jacobsen and he passed away in 1937. On June 29, 1941, she was married to Henry I. Peltier and he passed away on August 24, 1983. Prior to retirement, Jeanette worked as a clerk for over 30 years at Shaw Walker Company. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society. SURVIVORS include 1 stepson, Henry (Lois) Peltier of Miami, FL; 1 granddaughter, Diane Garay of Lancaster, PA; 1 granddaughter-in-law, Kay Peltier of Columbus, OH; 4 great grandchildren, Marc (Katie) Peltier, Daniel Peltier, Francesca (Mike) Gross, Christopher Garay; 2 great-great grandsons, Nikolaj and Nils Peltier; nieces, Mary Louise (Bill) Birr and Joan (Charles) Melrose and nephew, Gordon (Barb) Lange all of Muskegon; nephew, Jim (Judy) Pranger of Grand Rapids; niece Nancy (Kenneth) Tousey of Greensboro, NC; and her dear nephew, Kenneth (Betty) Best who she raised for 7 years, now living in Loganville, GA; dear friends, Larry and Barbara Van Etten. She was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Douglas and David Peltier, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Jeanette’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening. MEMORIAL CONTIBUTIONS may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
