Jean M. Olson's Obituary
Mrs. Jean M. Olson, age 91, of Muskegon passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at home. She was born February 7, 1920 in Hart, MI to Charles and Esther (McCormick) Pett. Jean was a member of First Congregational Church and an active member of the YMCA. She retired from Muskegon Public Schools after teaching for 14 years. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an excellent quilter. She made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On March 7, 1942 she married John A. Olson in Butternut, MI and he preceded her in death May 27, 2009. She is survived by 4 children: Chuck (Sue) Olson of Grand Rapids, Bob (Sandi) Olson of Northport, Karen (Charlie) Braman of Crystal, MI and Tom (Frieda) Olson of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by 2 sisters, Verna Stockford, Helen Aagaard; 1 sister-in-law, Rose Olson and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at First Congregational Church with Rev. Timothy D. VanderHaar officiating.
