Jeanne Marie Dexter's Obituary
Jeanne Marie Dexter, 58, passed away early Saturday morning, March 28, 2015 in Muskegon. She was born November 27, 1956 to Harry M. and Claire E. (Perry) Dexter in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Jeanne worked for GTE for several years, and also helped coordinate substitute teachers for Reeths Puffer Schools. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, and also attended St. Patrick’s and Our Lady of Grace. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She was active in the Haiti Outreach ministry through Prince of Peace, and was a former poster child for the March of Dimes. Jeanne served as a caregiver, volunteered for Red Cross, enjoyed attending community events, traveling, and meeting her friends for breakfast. She loved spending time with her family, and playing games with them. Jeanne is survived by 4 siblings, Jim (Mary Ellen) Dexter of Grand Rapids, Dan (Lisa) Dexter of Grand Haven, Karen (Bill) Friend of N. Muskegon, Mary (Doug) Carlston of Norton Shores; her nieces and nephews, Melissa, Heather, Terry, Sarah, Emily, Myles, Daniel, Christopher, April, Amber, and Alicia; 5 great nieces, 5 great nephews, and 1 on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents. A service celebrating Jeanne’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 2, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Tony Pelak presiding.
