Jeanne Marie Kauffman's Obituary
Jeanne Marie Kauffman, age 70, passed away on February 8, 2025, at Poppen House in Muskegon, MI after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was born on September 12, 1954, to Ambrose and Margaret (Allen) Krzykwa in Grand Rapids, MI. She met the love of her life, Jon L. Kauffman, at a bowling alley and later married him in Montague, MI on September 22, 1979. Jeanne loved spending time with family and making memories. She enjoyed kayaking, painting, and trips to the casino. She also was extremely talented as a seamstress and wedding cake baker and decorator. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jon Kauffman; siblings: Robert “Butch” Krzykwa, Charles “Chuck” (Georgia) Krzykwa and Kathy (Pat) Cihacz; children and grandchildren: Alisha Janczyk, Ann (Josh) Meier, Jon (Jen Smith) Kauffman, Megan Kauffman, Jason Janczyk Jr., Jacob Janczyk, Haley Harrington, Hannah Harrington, Madison Meier and Joshua Meier; 4 great grandchildren: Aiden, Sophia, Lucas and Mateo; brother-in-law, Ralph Hunter; goddaughters, Jeanie Roberts-Lahr and Tammy Josephson, as well as countless nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose “Chic” and Margaret “Peggy” Krzykwa; and siblings, Sharon “Sherry” Hunter and Patricia “Patty” Pruitt. Per Jeanne’s wishes, cremation will occur prior to services. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be Friday, February 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at The Lee Chapel with a ROSARY taking place at 5:00 PM and again on Saturday February 15, 2025, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
