Jeannene D. "JJ" Behler's Obituary
Jeannene D. Behler “JJ”, age 84, of Muskegon, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. The daughter of Connell & Evelyn (Foote) David, she was born on December 6, 1936 in Muskegon.
Jeannene worked many years as a cashier at Town & Country Market. She then transitioned into banking and retired from PNC Bank after several years of service. In Retirement she enjoyed working part-time for her daughter and son-in-law’s real estate company. JJ had a gift of really connecting with people, especially the college students; everyone loved her! JJ was a devout Christian woman and was very active in her Florida church. She found great joy in helping people. JJ enjoyed All things sports, including her favorite U of M football, crocheting, traveling, spending time at the beach listening to the waves and soaking up the sun. She loved everything about the holidays! But Jeannene’s greatest joy was spending time with family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Robert J. David. Surviving is her loving spouse, Dale Behler; Children: John E. Scheel, James B. Scheel, Julie (Timothy) Fish, Leigh (Philip) Timlin, and Lynn Behler; sister, Jan (Bob) Swanker; sister-in-law, Joan David; grandchildren, Jason (Chrissy) Kruger, Andrea (Jonathan) Minkoff, Elijah Scheel, Alexandria Fish, Zachary (Jessy) Fish, Sydney (Bryan) Fish, Anthony (Kimburly) Timlin, Dana (David) Michaels, Kate Timlin, Nicholas (Kristen) Timlin, and Kellen Timlin; great grandchildren, Desmond, Isabel, Jackson, Ava, CJ, Hayden, Logan, Silas, Selah, Judah, Caspian, and Lucy; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Jeannene will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. The interment TBA in the spring at Rural Hill Cemetery, Northville MI. *Masks are optional.
