Jeannette Koert's Obituary
Jeannette Koert, age 94, of Spring Lake went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at home. She was born January 20, 1922 in Grand Rapids to Henry, Sr. and Tina (Heemstra) Schripsema. She was a 1939 graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School and of the Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing.
Jeannette was a member of All Shores Wesleyan Church and proud member of the Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She enjoyed playing the piano and spending time gardening. Most of all she loved the beaches of Lake Michigan and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children: Donna Brooks of Eureka, CA, James (Laurie Clark) Koert of Spring Lake, Edward (Tammie) Koert of Spring Lake, Thomas (Brenda) Koert of Stouffville, ON, Canada and Robert Koert of Columbus, OH; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Sherlene) Schripsema; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Esther Koert; brothers, Henry (Anne) Schripsema, and Herm (Fran) Schripsema; sister, Corrine (Joseph) Alderink.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Harvest Bible Chapel in Spring Lake with Pastor Dan Cook officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contribution in memory of Jeannette may be given to Teen Challenge of West Michigan in Muskegon, MI.
