To all Jeff's kids, their spouses, grandkids, siblings, and Aunt Georgia, I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories with him and he will be greatly missed. After we moved to northern MI, I only got to see him once a year when we met for lunch when I was doing the Grand Haven or Holland Ski show for Caberfae, but back in the 80's, we got to spend a lot of time together. Back when he worked at MC's, I finally asked him why all his co-workers looked at me so strangely and he said they thought we were having an affair, so naturally, I played along until we couldn't keep the joke going any longer with a straight face - I really miss his laugh. He was always so kind. I always had really long hair, but when I finally got it cut short, I got a really bad pixie cut. In typical Jeff fashion, he told me it looks great and he always liked short hair. It really did look awful, but he always had the words to make you feel better. The last time we talked, we were looking forward to the time when he could take a trip with my sister to CO to see our new house we're building. I am so sad that isn't going to happen now and being so far away, it's hard to believe he's really gone but just like after Uncle Claude's passing, I feel his presence (probably laughing at me climbing 4 levels of scaffolding with all the grace and flexibility of an almost 63 yr old - did I say how much I love his laugh). He has left a huge void in so many lives and will be greatly missed but I am so blessed that every memory of him brings thoughts of laughter, warmth, friendship, compassion, and an ease that you could be yourself with him. We were born cousins, but we became friends and I will always cherish that. I love you Jeff and will continue to pray for peace and healing for all your kids and their families.
