Jeffrey D. Smith's Obituary
Jeffrey D. Smith, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 11, 1949, to Rev. Donald and Alverna (Battenfield) Smith in Elgin, IL, but eventually made his way to Muskegon, MI. On June 13, 1970, he married the love of his life, Maryjane Brazzale, in Muskegon. Together they cherished 54 years full of love. Jeff was a dedicated employee of Kaydon Corporation for 26 years where he worked as a machinist before retiring in 2005. He had a love for music and playing the guitar. Jeff will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife, Maryjane Smith; two children, Amy Velthouse and Peter (Kelli) Smith; two grandchildren, Nevin and Maisy; sister, Dr. Shirley (David Gottlieb) Smith; and sister-in-law, Sue Ordway. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Smith; and brother, Drifter Smith. Arrangements entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W.
