Jeffrey Spoelman's Obituary
Jeffrey Spoelman aged 66 of Ravenna passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Jeff was born on July 1, 1955 in Grant, the son of John and Arlene (Rider) Spoelman and graduated from Ravenna High School with the class of 1973. On July 16, 1977 he married Jodie Powell in Muskegon and they have celebrated 44 years together.
Jeff most recently worked for the Ottawa County Road Commission, retiring in 2016. He loved to spend time hunting, fishing, and rebuilding classic cars like his 1969 SS 396 Chevelle and 1971 Chevy Cheyenne pickup, but his favorite time was spent in the company of his precious granddaughters Zoe, Caitlyn, and Averie.
Along with his wife Jodie, Jeff will be greatly missed by his sons Jason (Sarah) Spoelman of Ravenna, and Jeremy (Rachelle) Spoelman of Ravenna; his granddaughters Zoe, Caitlyn, and Averie; his brothers and sisters Timothy (Maureen) Spoelman, Mark (Rose) Spoelman, Julie Helsen, Steve Spoelman, Kathy (Brian) Prentkiewicz, Matt (Kim) Spoelman, Connie (Alan) Leonard, Chris (Greg) Simington, and Todd Spoelman; his father and mother-in-law Dave and Janette Powell of Plainwell; along with Sisters and Brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Nova, and sisters Mary and baby girl Spoelman.
Funeral services will be held for Jeff at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 15 at the Throop Funeral Home in Ravenna with Rev. Donald VanSlyke officiating. Burial will take place at Ravenna Cemetery. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home and Tuesday 10-11 am just prior to the funeral service.
