Mr. Jeffrey Scott Lenartowicz, age 34, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home. He was born May 14, 1975 in Muskegon and was a life resident of the area. Jeff was a graduate of Orchard View High School class of 1993 and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker College in 1997. On March 17, 1999, he married the former Angela R. Van Hemert in Muskegon and she survives him. He was currently employed as the Finance Supervisor for the Muskegon County Sheriff Department since 1999. Jeff also served on the Roosevelt Park City Council since 2006, and was elected Mayor of the city in 2008. He currently was Chairman of the Roosevelt Park Planning Commission, Chairman of the Roosevelt Park Downtown Development Authority, Chairman of Muskegon Area First, and represented the City of Roosevelt Park on the West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Council. Among his many interests, Jeff enjoyed spending time on his boat and was a proud Harley-Davidson motorcycle owner. He was a member of the Masonic Temple in Downtown Muskegon and the Fraternal Order of Police in Twin Lake. He especially enjoyed playing with his kids. Along with his wife, Angela, he is survived by 2 children, Cayla Rae Lenartowicz and Jeffrey Scott Lenartowicz II, both at home; his mother, Gayle Lenartowicz; his mother-in-law, Lucy (Tom) Bisson, his paternal grandmother; Virginia Lenartowicz; sister-in-law, Michelle (Greg) Zack; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, David Lenartowicz; his father-in-law, Al Van Hemert; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Alma Noble; and his paternal grandfather, John Lenartowicz. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 23, 2010, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken St., with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Jeff’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100.
