My deepest sympathy to the family. I knew Jeff because last spring he dug my pond for me. I want you to know of a great story while he was working at my home, on Pontaluna just south of your home. While digging the pond, he discovered a mama duck sitting on her eggs (there were 9 eggs) near the shoreline where he needed to dig. What Jeff did then was so kind, and after reading his obit, so like Jeff. He stopped digging, and took the time to move the entire nest, eggs and all (of course mama had flown away, being frightened by the equipment and people)to the other side of the pond. Each day at the end of his day of digging, he put the nest back where it was in the beginning. When it was time to finish up the shoreline, it meant the nest had to be moved to another, permanent place. What Jeff did then, really demonstrated his kindness. He actually built a little island in the middle of the pond so the duck and her eggs would be safe, then perched the nest on top of the island. Jeff gpt great pleasure when mama deck returned each day. I just wanted you to know of a beautiful story of how we got to know Jeff. Blessings to all of you, our prayers are with you all.
