Poem
Jennifer Connolly Johnson
Sunflower soul.
Jen moved frowns to smiles
As she lit up my world.
Now she’s moved on from this realm,
I look out my door and see a full
Moon,
light loams
As I ponder on her life and all she meant to me.
Jen made me see,
She helped me to believe,
That life was for savings
AND adventures,
A balance
A dance,
Barre and pilates and yoga
and coke’o’Cola,
It was everything and all.
Jenny helped me to feel less small,
as she volunteered,
Wiped my tears
And took me to retreats to find the parts of me I’d lost…
Sight of.
Now she’s out of sight,
She not out of my mind
Or heart
Or any part of my past,
Her memory lasts
In my child’s smiles as we talk about auntie Jenny.
That we walked For miles
WITH.
With us
And with thee,
She’ll
Always be as we remember her light
And soul.
…
Jenny the sunflower soul.
She loved wholely
And completely
And cared.
She shared.
She explored
She learnt Spanish
And adored
Her cats, her family, andrew and travel.
She welcomed people.
Nursed them well.
She welcomed me,
Into her life
Into her way of living
which was peaceful, calm
And yet with gusto for being.
She was a marvel.
A treasure
A gift.
That’s my love for all the bliss.
I love you Jenny
I’ll miss you still
Whilst your memories stay a while and remain until,
I let go of all sadness,
And only retain
The LOVE and light you shared,
That Will Always
remain.
Thank you Jenny
Thank you
X
