Jerome W. Szmadzinski's Obituary
Jerome W. “Jerry” Szmadzinski, age 64, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 1, 2021. He was born February 1, 1957 in Muskegon, MI to Joseph and Stella (Czekuc) Szmadzinski and was a lifelong resident of the area. Jerry worked as a DNR Officer for the State of Michigan at the Grand Haven State Park for 10 years. He worked for Muskegon Area Intermediate School District as the Maintenance Supervisor for 10 years. He last worked as the Harbor Master for Lakeshore Yacht Harbor for 3 years. During the past 30 years, he also owned and operated Ski Snowplowing. Jerry was very generous and would do anything he could for others. He was very handy and could fix anything. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors and was a nature lover – especially watching the deer. He will be missed by his family and many friends. On September 16, 2006, he married Polly Thompson and she survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Laura (Caleb) Lasater and their children, Titus and Elaina. Jerry is also survived by 3 brothers, John, Jamii (Christine) and Jacob Szmadzinski. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Joe Szmadzinski. A Celebration of Life will be held 6-8 PM Friday, April 9, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
