Jerry A. DeVowe's Obituary
Jerry A. DeVowe, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, surrounded by family. He was born on December 6, 1942 to Hiram and Gertrude (McCastle) DeVowe in Muskegon. Jerry was a hardworking man who loved his family. He worked for over 30 years at CWC Textron until his retirement. Jerry was a passionate fisherman and spent a lot of time on Lake Erie catching fish for his famous fish fries. Jerry loved traveling, cooking and working in his garage. He was a devoted family man to not only his own children but to the many children he and his wife fostered over the years. On April 8, 1967 he married the love of his life, the former Sally Greene, and they spent 52 wonderful years together. Along with his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Donna Shriver, Cindy Marker, Robert (Lori) DeVowe, Todd DeVowe, Desiree Olsen, Aila DeVowe; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; foster children, Cindy Ferencsik, Barb Maser, Sheila Burke, Karen Crowley, Cynthia Ann Bloomstrom, Bobby Jo Inscore, Mindy Parks and many other foster children. VISITATION will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S.Harvey St. from 6 - 8:00 PM. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jerry will take place on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Covenant Community Church (134 E. Barney Ave.) at 2:00 PM with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service.
