Jerry J. Mayette's Obituary
Jerry J. Mayette, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2023. He was born on January 2, 1942, to Phillip and Agnes (Comeau) Mayette in Muskegon. Prior to 2002, he had worked as an engineer for Knoll for 35 years. Jerry also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He enjoyed many things in life which included fishing, golfing, cards – poker, but most importantly he enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry was also very proud to say his family had 3 generations attend Muskegon Catholic. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Lakeside Veteran’s Club. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. On October 24, 1964, he married, Carol Budenholzer and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2023. SURVIVORS include two children, Scott (Cheryl) Mayette and Lesley (Pete) Adkins; grandchildren, Tommy (Megan) Vincent, Lauren Hicks, Jacob Budde and Morgan (Nick) Frazier; 3 great-grandchildren, Reagan, Lincoln, Hadley and a fourth great-granddaughter expected in the fall of 2023; brother, Roger Mayette and nieces, Kathy Haas and Brenda Lewman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE with Military Rites will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to Muskegon Catholic Central School or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
